Connect an agent

How an MCP client securely connects to your Wallet account.

Wallet uses OAuth so an MCP client can act for the Wallet account you choose, without receiving your Wallet password or card details.

MCP endpoint

Use the Wallet API’s public origin followed by /mcp. The endpoint advertises OAuth protected-resource metadata for clients that support the standard connection flow. Locally the API listens on port 9090, separate from the web app on port 3000. Signed in, the Agents page shows the endpoint and setup steps for ChatGPT, Claude and Codex.

Connection flow

    Your MCP client reads Wallet’s protected-resource metadata.

    The client opens Wallet sign-in and consent in your browser.

  3. 3

    You choose the Wallet account and approve the connection.

  4. 4

    The client receives a scoped, time-limited token and can call Wallet MCP tools.

Connected agents

Wallet records the connected client as an agent on your account. You can inspect active connections in the Agents area and remove access when you no longer want an agent to act for you.
